How Can I Have Gum Disease When I Brush My Teeth 2-3 Times A Day?

How Can I Have Gum Disease When I Brush My Teeth 2-3 Times A Day?

You can decrease your chances of having tooth decay and periodontal infection by cleaning your teeth on a regular basis. The problem is that you are not able to reach the plaque that has accumulated underneath your gum line, and this is the plaque that causes periodontal disease. To remove build up below the gum line, professional dental hygiene care is required. For some adults, the build up of plaque is often irritated by damaged fillings, dentures, and missing or chipped teeth. Teenagers are also at risk for the disease if they do not follow a proper hygiene regime.

Your daily diet is one of the numerous contributing factors to plaque, and also the consistency of the diet. Plaque cannot be “prevented” but it can be “controlled” with proper care. Healthy teeth affect your overall health and can greatly improve your well being. We here at Citracado Dental have a highly skilled team to aid you in the process of achieving good oral hygiene. Excellent periodontal health is the key to keeping your teeth and smile for a lifetime.

Not An Ordinary Team

Susan Schuyler and Carri Davidson

The commitment and loyalty of our team is one of our proudest accomplishments. Citracado Dental is a warm and loving place for both our staff and our clients. We know people thrive in a supportive and encouraging environment. We enjoy coming to work not only because we love dentistry and helping other people, but because we love the people we work with.

Carri Davidson, our office administrator, has been here for 21 years and Susan Schuyler just celebrated her 20th anniversary as Dr. Kangas’s assistant. Lisa Pierce recently entered her 17th year, and a majority of our staff has been here for over 10 years.

We all feel and appreciate the opportunity to perform at our best by working in an office that values people and their contributions. New and existing clients feel it when they visit our office as it is apparent that there is something special here. People know they will be taken care of as if they were a member of our own family.

Drs. Jungman, Kangas, and Layus realize the importance of family and making our patients feel as comfortable as possible. It is no mistake that happy staff create happy clients!

Be Our Guest: VIP Service

Be Our Guest: VIP Service

It has become the dental industry standard to “take care of the patient”, but we here at Citracado Dental feel very differently. What do you associate with the word patient? Probably words like ill, dependent, and in need of assistance. Most people’s emotional reaction to the word ranges from anxiety or concern to uncertainty. But when you here the word guest, what is your reaction? Do you think of more positive things, such as an invitation, valued friends, excitement, anticipation, someone to be enjoyed, and someone to look forward to meeting? Plus the advantages of being treated as someone who is special, welcome and highly valued?

We view our clients with such a regard. Just as you invite people into your home, we invite you into our practice. We consider you our guest and strive to provide you with a complete guest experience — an environment where your needs are anticipated and expectations are exceeded. We take great pride in our dental home and love the work we do. Helping people is our passion, and you are our priority.

Our business is successful because of our customer and the personal referrals of happy clients like you! With the day-to-day rush, allow us to pamper you during your dental appointment. With the spa amenities we offer, fresh juice and coffee, foot massage, nitrous oxide, aromatherapy, television, and headphone music — you can relax. We are not the ordinary dental office, so don’t expect to be treated like you are an ordinary patient.

You are our Very Important Person!

Don’t Let Fear Stop You!

If you are afraid of the dentist, you are NOT alone. Many people suffer from dental phobias, which is a major deterrent from pursuing your dental health. Fear is usually the result of a previous experience that has created a “conditioned response.” The good news is that response can be unlearned by a positive experience.

Taking care of apprehensive patients is one of our specialties. It is amazing what a warm and loving staff, along with a comforting and calming environment can do for you. The most important thing to remember is that we truly CARE about you and are confident you will be comfortable with our team. The first step is for you to make the call, and let us do the rest! Please ask for your complimentary consultation today. We are always happy to discuss your concerns.

Christmas Tree Lane & The Boys and Girls Club

Christmas Tree Lane & The Boys and Girls Club

Citracado Dental has made an annual contribution to the Escondido Boys and Girls Club charity function — Christmas Tree Lane — since 1988. At this spectacular event, Christmas trees are beautifully decorated by local designers and raffled off to the community. All the proceeds go directly to the Boys and Girls Club organization and specifically benefit the children. This year Citracado Dental is going a step beyond and decorating our own tree! A theme is chosen for each tree, and Citracado will present “The Pearls of Christmas.” We look forward to working together and creating our own holiday masterpiece. It feels wonderful to give to others, and this offers a beautiful venue to do so. If you are interested, contact the Escondido Boys and Girls Club for information on tickets at (760) 746-3315. It is a festive and extremely rewarding experience! The dates for the event are December 2-3, 2005.
